Dubai - Between heat, horizon and trade
Dubai was the final stop on my recent business trip—and also its emotional climax. This city is far more than just skylines and glitz: It's a meeting place for visions and international ambitions.
It all began with a visit to Vision Industry in the Mall of the Emirates—one of the most stylish eyewear boutiques in the world. Between architectural clarity and high-quality brand presentations, our collection was not just displayed, but showcased. It was immediately apparent that this isn't just a place for sales—it's a place for curation. And ANY DI fits perfectly into this environment, which combines function, elegance, and innovation.
What became apparent right at the beginning of this trip became increasingly clear in subsequent encounters: Dubai is not just a place for business – it is a place for true mutual respect.
For example, with our long-standing client Trivision , where the focus wasn't just on collections, but on design philosophy, attitude, and shared ambitions. It was a conversation on equal terms, driven by respect and genuine interest. Especially for me, as a woman and founder, it was particularly valuable to be seen and heard – as a person with vision.
A special venue was the Africa Collective at Jumeirah Al Naseem – a concept store that impressively combines art, interior design, and fashion. Our products weren't just exhibited there, but became part of a story. Amidst African craftsmanship and international design, ANY DI was given a platform for our values: aesthetics, function, authenticity.
The visit to our new prestigious client Tresori was more than just a traditional store meeting: Interior design meets curated fashion – a place that doesn't just sell, but showcases. ANY DI wasn't just placed, but effectively staged.
We held discussions with the Rivoli Group , a long-established retail partner with a vision, about a potential collaboration in the GCC region. The focus was not on a quick deal—but on building a sustainable, respectful partnership with a shared vision.
For me, as a founder, it was particularly moving to experience how naturally and respectfully I was welcomed as an entrepreneur. In a region often still perceived as traditional, I was not only heard but taken seriously – as a creative force, strategic partner, and mother.
The exchange with Flemingo was characterized by respect, openness, and genuine interest in ANY DI. As a global travel retail partner – active in South Africa and Cape Verde – Flemingo pursues a long-term vision that is a perfect fit for us.
In the GCC region – from Dubai to Saudi Arabia – it became clear that design, attitude and authenticity are not only valued here, but in demand.

Because yes, my little son was with me as always – my most loyal travel companion. And my husband also supported me on this trip. For me, that's the greatest luxury: living family and business not as opposites, but as one.
I've been in contact with the Al Jaber Group – a renowned, family-run optician chain – for years. Our on-site meeting provided the impetus: We'll launch together in the GCC region in October.
